Diping Yuan

Professor Diping Yuan, is Chief Technology Officer of Shenzhen Urban Public Safety and Technology Institute. He is selected as candidates of "National Key Talent Project", experts entitled to State Council Special Allowance, and national leading talents of Shenzhen. Prof. Yuan has served as adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor of China University of Mining and Technology, visiting researcher and doctoral supervisor of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences, and supervisor of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Southern University of Science and Technology.

He is the deputy director of Community Safety Committee of China Association of Emergency Management, deputy director of the Shenzhen Association of Emergency Management (SAEM), and director of Information Technology Committee, SAEM. Prof. Yuan is the fellow of the Standardization Committee of the China Fire Protection Association, fellow of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Technical Committee, and the deputy director of the Expert Center of the Committee for Fire Safety of Urban Rail Transportation. His research areas include urban public safety information technology, urban public safety equipment technology, intelligent fire technology and emergency rescue simulation training technology. He has also been awarded by grants from over 10 provincial or national programs, including national key research program, key program of the Ministry of Public Security, and Key Research Program of Guangdong Province. Currently, he is project leader for the National Key Program of the 13th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Key Project of Disaster Prevention of Guangdong Province, and program from Science and Technology Innovation Commission of Shenzhen.
